Mount Eerie Releases Ambient Recording of Fireworks and Wind

Indie musician Mount Eerie, aka Phil Elverum, has released a five-minute ambient field recording of Fourth of July fireworks and wind from “outside town” via Bandcamp.

The track’s description reads, “no big deal, no reason for this recording, no physical release, the wind gradually increases.” Indeed.

”(fireworks & wind)” is Elverum’s first release since 2018’s Now Only. The musician will play a hometown dinner and concert event in Anacortes, Wash., under his former moniker The Microphones on July 20. He and actress Michelle Williams recently separated after secretly marrying earlier this year.
