Musician Martin Molin Creates Instrument Played with 2,000 Marbles

Those familiar with the ethos of Rube Golberg know that sometimes pomp is just more fun than simplicity. Pee Wee Herman knew this well, and apparently Swedish musician Martin Molin does too considering he spent 14 months assembling a multi-purpose vibraphone, replete with a bass and kick-drum, and powered by 2,000 marbles.

In a video posted to YouTube, the leader of band Wintergarten cranks levers on his handmade contraption, creating an OK Go-sized spectacle you have to see to believe. It’s as impressive musically as it is in an engineering sense.
