After dazzling us with three distinctly charming singles, Neko Case’s first solo LP in five years Hell-On was released on Friday via Anti-.
With a fire burning down Case’s Vermont home this past September, unfortunate circumstances led to deeply introspective storytelling throughout the 12-track record, but that doesn’t stop the singer-songwriter from having fun on dance-worthy tracks like “Bad Luck.”
The follow-up to 2013’s The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You also features guest appearances like Mark Lanegan on “Curse Of the I-5 Corridor,” as well as contributions from Beth Ditto, AC Newman, k.d Lang, Eric Bachmann and more.
