Gallery: Newport Folk Festival Portraits

Last month, Newport Folk Festival rocked Rhode Island for the 66th time. Its rich history, which began in 1959 and has carried on beautifully every summer since 1985, was on full display for three days. Rain or shine, Newport Folk is among the most important musical events ever and remains as such. It’s a testament to the power and community that this business can still offer. This year, Newport Folk welcomed dozens of acts onto its stages, including many who have graced our pages and covers, like Geese, Hannah Cohen, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Jeff Tweedy, Jessica Pratt, Kim Deal, Lucius, Margo Price, MJ Lenderman, and Waxahatchee.
