In less than a decade, Nicki Minaj has gone from speaking out against President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance immigration policy—which separated thousands of children from their undocumented parents—to singing the president’s praises. The Queens-born rapper made a surprise guest appearance at a televised Turning Point USA summit late last year, where she told Erika Kirk that she considers Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance “role models” for young men. At a recent White House Rose Garden Luncheon, one of the role models in question introduced Minaj as “a woman that is so respected and so hot.” Can you guess which one it was?
During his remarks, President Trump called Minaj “not a conservative or a liberal, or as they say now, ‘progressive,’” although it’s safe to say that someone who aligns herself with known sexual predators, openly mocks trans kids, and makes unsubstantiated claims about the COVID-19 vaccine causing people’s testicles to swell up has bought into conservative propaganda. Minaj has called herself “Trump’s #1 fan” and has insisted that “he has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him.” She also shared a photo of herself and the president in the Oval Office together with the caption: “Whoa!!!! #WhiteHouseBarbie with her favorite president of all time!!!!” The White House Rose Garden Luncheon is just another stop on Minaj’s furlough from the Khia Asylum. As long as being a MAGA grifter pays, she’ll keep selling what they’re buying.
