Liam Gallagher: Next Time I See Damon Albarn “There’s Gonna Be War”
Photos by Vittorio Zunino Celotto/Getty, Jo Hale/GettyFormer Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher has taken to Twitter to vent about his brother and fellow Oasis member Noel Gallagher’s feature on Gorillaz’s latest album Humanz. Gallagher’s tweets unfavorably compare the Gorillaz-Noel Gallagher collab “We Got the Power” to Mick Jagger and David Bowie’s 1985 track “Dancing In the Street.” Liam even threw some personal shade, suggesting that Gorillaz founder and former Blur member, Damon Albarn “might have turned noel Gallagher into a massive girl.”
The relationship between the two brothers has been pretty shady for quite a while: Noel dismissed his brother’s opinions earlier this week, telling Vulture, “Listen, nobody gives a fuck what Liam thinks about anything.” The sibling rivalry has quite a history: It is responsible for Oasis’ breakup and since then, Liam has taken to calling Noel a “potato.”
Read the (maddeningly ungrammatical) tweets in question below, listen to Gorillaz’s “We Got the Power” below that, and listen to “Dancing In The Street” at the bottom. By the way,
we at Paste quite like Gorillaz’s new album Humanz, out today—read our review here.
