Phantom Planet Reunite, Release New Track “Balisong”

Nostalgia has a SoCal address.

Since their unofficial separation in 2008 following the release of their album Raise The Dead, the quintessential Californians of Phantom Planet have returned with a new track titled “Balisong,” four new tour dates and the announcement that they’re currently in the studio at work on their fifth album.

Singer, rhythm guitarist and chief songwriter Alex Greenwald said of the band’s 25 years of history, “We feel like we’re returning home. The boys in Phantom Planet are my brothers, and we figured it was time for a full-fledged family reunion.”

Before Phantom Planet announce the plans for their full tour, they will play in intimate clubs around SoCal to preview their new material.

As for that new material from their forthcoming Tony Berg-produced album, Greenwald said, “Tony has always been a big proponent of my song-writing and he’s probably one of the only people whose opinion I trust. Every Phantom Planet record has been an experiment. I’m sure this one will be no different.”
