Ryan Adams Compares alt-J to a Mosquito Bite: “If You Ignore It, It’ll Go Away”

As per Stereogum writer Ryan Leas, Ryan Adams decided to have some fun at alt-J’s expense during his set at NOS Alive Festival in Portugal over the weekend, telling the crowd on behalf of him and his band, “We’re sorry about alt-J.” The band had played earlier at the festival, and Adams was apologizing to those watching him for enduring alt-J’s set.

Adams then went further, offering an even deeper diss: “It’s like a mosquito bite. If you ignore it, it’ll go away. I’m just kidding. I love Nickelodeon. It’s a great channel,” jabbed Adams, apparently insinuating that alt-J makes music for kids. Why he was prompted to say this, we don’t know. Our guess is that alt-J won’t respond, since they’re busy with the release of their latest album Relaxer and are generally pretty chill dudes.
