Sean “Don’t Call Me Diddy” Combs, the world’s richest rapper, said Sunday night that he wants to buy the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and “address the Colin Kaepernick situation,” now that the team is up for sale in the wake of current owner Jerry Richardson’s sexual harassment scandal.
Over the weekend, Richardson announced that he had decided to sell the Panthers while an NFL investigation probes allegations of sexual harassment and other nasty workplace abuses, as detailed in a report by Sports Illustrated.
Combs, who topped Forbes’s list of the wealthiest rappers in 2017 and recently changed his name again, tweeted Sunday night that “There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history.”
He also posted a video on Twitter saying that he would “be the best NFL owner that you could imagine,” right after incorrectly calling the team the “North Carolina Panthers.”
