Silversun Pickups – Nightlight

Silversun Pickups at this point are veterans of the alt-rock genre. They have been playing together since 2002, and continue to be a force to be reckoned with on the festival circuit. Though they have been at it for a while, Silversun Pickups show no signs of slowing down. They stopped by our studios for a session and to promote their upcoming album. Recently, Silversun Pickups has added a more electronic sound to their collage of influences, which is heard prominently throughout their 2015 album Better Nature. That said, Silversun Pickups best resemble a melting pot of 1990’s alternative rock bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins and Oasis.

?The songs featured in this session are all off the aforementioned album, and they are all a good way to experience the band whether this is a person’s first time listening or if they are a Silversun Pickups expert. “Latchkey Kids,” “Nightlight,” and “Circadian Rhythm” are all skillfully crafted songs, and show the Los Angeles quartet at their best. Silversun Pickups are trailblazers, leaving the path wide open for many other bands to follow their lead. Watch “Nightlight” here, and play through for the rest of the session right here.
