New Service Vinylize.it Lets You Create Custom Records from SoundCloud Files

Have you ever been in the situation when you wanted to buy a vinyl copy of a single, only to find out that the song was only available digitally? Enter Vinylize.it, a new startup from the crew behind QRATES.com.

Vinylize.it will give users the ability to choose songs or playlists from SoundCloud to create custom-pressed vinyl recordings.

But don’t get too excited just yet: the records will only be made available for purchase following approval from the artist and after enough customers “rally support” for each vinyl record. In addition, the service hasn’t launched yet, and there is no known launch date for Vinylize.it.

Another issue is the sound quality. With all SoundCloud tracks being converted to MP3-128kbps quality for playback, whether these custom vinyl records will sound as good as ordinary vinyl remains to be seen.
