Texas slowcore group Teethe have announced the release of their upcoming album Magic of the Sale, due for release on August 8 via Winspear. The new project comes five years after the band’s self-titled debut, on the heels of their 2024 single “Thanks.” Available for pre-order now, the album aims to explore the challenges of building a life in a world on the verge of collapse and includes collaborations with the likes of Xandy Chelmis of Wednesday, MJ Lenderman, and Hovvdy’s Charlie Martin.
With the help of a revamped studio and band founder Boone Patrello’s dedication to the mixing process, Teethe’s new self-produced album promises to lend the band’s signature DIY sound, but with cleaner and more confident edges.
In anticipation of the release Teethe shared the project’s title track: a melancholy kaleidoscope of driving drums, swirling guitars, and wistful strings. “‘Magic Of the Sale’ is about the endurance of pain and what you would sacrifice to relieve it,” says the band. “It’s facing judgment for how you process the pain in your life and the turmoil that follows.”
