Watch Dave Grohl Cover Van Halen with The Bird and The Bee on James Corden

Last month, The Bird and the Bee released their delightfully absurd third cut from their forthcoming Van Halen covers record Interpreting the Masters Volume 2, and Wednesday night, the duo made their late-night debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden to take on “Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love” with none other than Dave Grohl.

The duo take the jazz route to reinterpret the Van Halen original, leaning heavily on keyboards and bass to push the song into a more polished and chilled-out territory. Grohl, uh, definitely drives the cover home—though delivering a characteristically first-rate performance, his kit drowns out Greg Kurstin’s piano and the cover’s webs of synth.
