Beyonce and Jay-Z’s “Apeshit” Was a Migos Demo Track First

By now, you’ve probably heard that The Carters rented out the Louvre to film the video for their song “Apeshit”—you do want you want when you’re poppin’, apparently. “Apeshit” is the first single off their newly released album Everything Is Love to get a music video.

What you might not know is that “Apeshit” was a full-fledged Migos demo before it made its way to Beyonce and Jay-Z. In the album version, the Migos can be heard ad-libbing in the background and are also credited as co-writers on the Pharrell-produced track.

The chorus and pre-chorus on both tracks line up pretty much word-for-word and flow-for-flow. Bey and Jay both chipped in their own verses for the track, though, and of course gave it that classic Carters spectacle flair.
