The Shins Add More Tour Dates

The Shins just released their fifth LP, the spirited and warm pop record Heartworms, on Friday, and already they’ve added tour dates to the previously announced tour in support of the album.

The tour actually starts up tomorrow in NYC and then will steadily hum along through August, with stops in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, Denmark and Switzerland. Similar to recent tours, Shins auteur James Mercer will be supported by a five-piece band that includes frequent collaborators Jon Sortland and Mark Watrous.

As one added bonus to fans of the band, The Shins’ first touring van is being offered up to people who participate in a cover song campaign for Heartworms. Mercer is picking the winner himself and says the van “ought to be passed on to a band that uses it to get out there and play shows and spread their music.” Find more info here.
