Twen have just released their second single, “Holy River,” and an accompanying music video. The Nashville indie-rock duo are freshly minted signees to Frenchkiss Records, emerging from the Boston DIY scene with the debut single “Waste.”
With only two singles and a live EP under their belts, bandmates Jane Fitzsimmons and Ian Jones are prepping for the release of their forthcoming debut album. While there isn’t much information out about the new album yet, the duo’s lead single has already received critical acclaim—we highlighted “Waste” as our Daily Dose upon its release.
“Holy River” is a psychedelic, slowed-down ode to nature, inspired by the woods and rivers of Nashville. With its dreamy, distorted fuzz and fragmented, barely intelligible lyrics, the song carries on the psychedelic rock and dream pop amalgamation to which we were introduced on Twen’s debut single.
The video, directed by Fitzsimmons herself, features the two wandering a misty forest in all-red get-ups with some serious devil vibes.
