Twenty One Pilots are having a good year: the indie-pop duo recently received five Grammy nods, including three for “Heathens,” the song they wrote for the blockbuster Suicide Squad. The band just released a peek into their glowing world: a new short film that captures them performing five of their songs in the studio with the New Orleans-based alt-rock band MUTEMATH. They’ve dubbed the project TOP X MM.
The 25 minute-long video opens with “Heathens” and then moves through four songs from their 2015 album Blurryface: “Heavydirtysoul,” “Ride,” “Tear In My Heart” and “Lane Boy.” Twenty One Pilots have made all of the tracks recorded in the session available for free download here. Take advantage, especially for this excellent, sleek version of “Heathens.”
