Watch Wilco Play “Everyone Hides” on The Late Show

Wilco appeared on Monday night’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote their forthcoming 11th album Ode to Joy, arriving this Friday via the band’s own dBpm Records. Jeff Tweedy and company took the Ed Sullivan Theater stage to perform their recently released single “Everyone Hides,” making their first television appearance since 2017. Lead guitarist Nels Cline steals the show, but it’s Tweedy who better get used to being on TV: The frontman was recently cast in Season 10 of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, expected to air in 2020.

Having just wrapped a series of Europe and U.K. tour dates, Wilco aren’t hiding at all: They head out on a North American run next week, beginning with an Oct. 8 stop in Toronto, and hitting Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Nashville, Houston, Austin, St. Louis and Denver, among other cities, before winding down their tour with a three-night stand at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul, Minn., on Nov. 22-24, and ending it on Winterlude, the band’s hometown holiday residency, coming to the Chicago Theatre on Dec. 15-16 and 18-19. Tickets are on sale now.
