Bernie Sanders Is Starting a Twitch Channel

It looks like Bernie is about to become a Twitch streamer.

Well, not exactly. While Bernie Sanders’ newly created Twitch channel may not include him playing Fortnite duos with Ninja, he will be utilizing the platform to reach a wider audience. What you can probably expect are live videos in which the senator will discuss his presidential campaign and the issues within our current political climate. The live Twitch streams will start tomorrow, June 27, both before and after the scheduled first round of the Democratic primary debates.

After that, the Sanders campaign will begin producing regularly scheduled live programming, according to digital communications lead Josh Miller-Lewis.

“We’re moving toward doing a lot more live content on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook, tapping into an audience where there’s not a lot of political content already,” Miller-Lewis told Recode.

Twitch is new territory for politicians, and Sanders leading the charge might establish it as a worthy asset to other campaigns down the line.
