Trump, While Posing With Military Leaders: “It’s the Calm Before the Storm”

Yeah, really.

During a surprise press event to “document a dinner” he had with military leaders from the United States, President Donald Trump said something particularly ominous. Hawaii News Now reports that after Trump posed with his highest-ranking military aides, this happened:

“You guys know what this represents?” Trump asked. “Maybe it’s the calm before the storm. Could be the calm, the calm before the storm.”

“What storm Mr. President?” one reporter shouted. ISIS? North Korea? Iran?

“You’ll find out,” the president said.

Yeah, we, uh … we don’t have a lot to add here. That’s a terrifying thing to say. Our president followed up a dinner during which he praised his military for their work against the Islamic State by saying this period was “the calm before the storm.” It speaks for itself.

Trump went on to say he expected those in the room to provide “a broad range of military options, when needed, at a much faster pace.”
