Fernando Torres Scores Twice Against Real Madrid

Fernando Torres’ first goals back with Atletico Madrid couldn’t have come at a better time. Or against a better opponent.

Torres scored twice as Atletico tied 2-2 with Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey second leg, giving them a 4-2 aggregate win and a place in the quarter-finals. His first goal came less than a minute in, when Antoine Griezmann rocketed past Pepe down the left side and sent a perfectly weighted ball in to Torres for a side-foooted strike.

Griezmann and Torres linked up again to start the second half, as Torres faked out Pepe and slotted it past Navas.

These are Torres’ first goals since Sept. 22, when he played for Milan.
