Twitter is Loosening its Character Limit
Photo by TwitterTwitter has made many changes this year, including implementing a controversial algorithmic timeline, allowing users to create polls and replacing their star with a heart (who does it think it is, Instagram?). Now, it is loosening its 140-character limit. In a few months, usernames, photos, links, polls and other media will not be counted in the limit, effectively allowing for longer tweets.
Twitter is also making replies reach all followers (so no more .@usernames necessary) and allowing users to retweet themselves.
