After a few weeks of intermittent operation during soft openings and test rides, Skull Island: Reign of Kong is finally open at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Orlando. The attraction simulates a jeep ride through King Kong’s home island in the early 1930s, and features some of the most impressive animatronics and immersive 3D screens around today. Islands of Adventure is one of two theme parks at Universal Orlando, and the home of Marvel Super Hero Island, Jurassic Park, Toon Lagoon and the Hogsmeade portion of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. So Kong’s now hanging out alongside Jurassic Park’s T-rex, the Incredible Hulk, and a massive, bearded Robbie Coltrane, as fantastic a foursome as ever existed.
