The second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events hits Netflix Friday, March 30. It covers books 5-8 of Lemony Snicket’s (a.k.a. Daniel Handler’s) chronicle of the relentlessly grim lives of the Baudelaire orphans, Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny (Presley Smith), whose unusual resourcefulness and literary acumen are barely enough to keep them a step ahead of the evil Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) as he attempts to steal their fortune.
Familiar cast members—including K. Todd Freeman as the cheerfully inept Mr. Poe and Patrick Warburton as the morose, obsessive Lemony Snicket, not to mention Olaf’s crew of henchpersons—will be joined by new foes and a few, usually doomed, friends, including Allison Williams, Lucy Punch, Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Robbie Amell, Sara Rue, Roger Bart and David Alan Grier. Eight highly binge-worthy, cinematically daring and remarkably Unfortunate episodes will pick up where the first season left off, at the Epically Dreadful Prufrock Preparatory School.
Take a behind-the-scenes peek here! And tune in. Unless, of course, you are not a glutton for punishment.
