Take a Look at the ’80s-Fueled Cast of American Horror Story: 1984

Every week we’re getting closer to the ninth season of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story, and thanks to Murphy’s Instagram story, the cast for American Horror Story: 1984 has been unveiled, per Entertainment Weekly.

As previously reported, Emma Roberts is again part of ninth season’s cast, but the season will also bring some newcomers to the table. Dressed in ’80s attire and strutting along to Dan Hartman’s “I Can Dream About You,” the cast looks poised and ready for a season that will most likely leave all, or very close to all, of them dead.

Premiering Sept. 18, American Horror Story: 1984 will center around the tropes of ’80s slasher films, and if the trailer says anything, it seems that the summer camp setting of Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp have influenced Murphy. The show’s creator originally revealed the season’s theme and title in another teaser on his Instagram, as well. However, AHS is known for completely changing themes midseason, just take a look at last year’s Apocalypse.

The recurring cast members unveiled in the trailer include Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern and Leslie Grossman. The newcomers included are Glee’s Matthew Morrison (and his rather forward… partner… ?), British Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy and Pose’s Angelica Ross.

It was recently announced that long-time AHS actress Sarah Paulson won’t have a major role in the season, if she even as a role at all. Long-time AHS actor Evan Peters also confirmed he wouldn’t be in the forthcoming season.
