Some bad news coming from the 99: Chelsea Peretti is not returning as a series regular on the NBC-revived, forthcoming sixth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the comedian announced on Twitter Wednesday.
B99 fans. Hiiiiiiiiiiii. Chelsea Peretti, here. I won’t be doing a full season of Brooklyn Nine Nine in Season 6. But that doesn’t mean I won’t ever be back, winky face emoji, heart emoji. I want to thank you for the hours you spent watching Gina be Gina:

Peretti brought a jolt of energy to Brooklyn Nine-Nine as sardonic assistant Gina Linetti, and has been part of the show’s delightful ensemble since the start. Fans had hoped for more of Peretti on the show after she took maternity leave during the first half of its last season on Fox, but it looks like they won’t be getting much of her now that the show has found a new home at NBC.
Peretti reassured fans in the announcement by hinting that this doesn’t necessarily mean the end for her on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a sentiment that showrunner Dan Goor affirmed in his statement on her exit.

The sixth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which recently had its episode order expanded from 13 to 18, will premiere on NBC sometime during midseason, although an official premiere date has not yet been announced.
