Bryan Singer to Helm the Pilot for Fox’s X-Men TV Series

In the recent surge of superhero television shows, Fox has their very own X-Men series on the way, and you’ll never guess who they got for the pilot. Just guess. Try. You guessed Bryan Singer? Well, you’re right, so good for you.

The show will follow a mutant born to non-mutant parents who will do everything they can to protect their child. Singer is executive-producing and directing the pilot alongside Burn Notice executive producer Matt Nix, who will also write it. Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory are also signed on as executive producers.

Singer has directed four X-Men films so far, most of which have turned out pretty well, so it’s safe to say that he’s familiar with the subject matter. It’ll also probably be uber-serious, and feature lots of monochromed leather.

The show, Marvel TV’s second project after Legion, is currently without a title or premiere date.
