TV News Fargo

Fargo’s third season just keeps getting better. After adding Ewan McGregor (who’s playing twin brothers) and The LeftoversCarrie Coon, the show has now announced that David Thewlis will also be joining the third season’s cast.

Thewlis, a veteran actor who’s had roles in everything from Anomalisa to The Theory of Everything, is perhaps most well-known for his portrayal of Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter series. On Fargo, Thewlis is slated to play “a mysterious loner and true capitalist who delivers Emmit (McGregor), the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, the bad news that he has just become partners with his employers, whose business interests lay outside the law.”

Thewlis’ loner character will go by the name V.M. Vargas, another wonderful addition to Noah Hawley’s universe of terrific Fargo names. The forthcoming third season will be set in 2010, just a few years after the events of season one, and several decades after season two. The third season is set to be released in the spring of 2017.
