House of Cards‘ Final Season Premiere Date Announced

The final season of House of Cards is imminent.

Netflix announced Tuesday the sixth and last season of their popular political drama will premiere on Nov. 2, just in time for election season. The show, which was among Netflix’s first cohort of original series, premiered in 2013. Following sexual misconduct allegations against star Kevin Spacey, the show was forced to move on without him, and his love-to-hate character Frank Underwood. Robin Wright, who has been nominated for five Emmys for the show, will lead House of Cards—and its fictional America—as Claire Underwood in the final season.

A new teaser featuring Claire dropped on July 4, with her sole message being, “Happy Independence Day. To me.” Another teaser trailer preceded it in March. The sixth season of House of Cards will be eight episodes long.

Netflix also announced in January that Diane Lane, Cody Fern and Greg Kinnear will join the show alongside returning cast members.
