After Sunday night’s premiere of Twin Peaks, people are still trying to figure out how to get only the trial period of a Showtime subscription, but they might want to stick around for what other shows the network has to offer.

One of those shows is I’m Dying Up Here, executive-produced by Jim Carrey, Dave Flebotte and Michael Aguilar, with performances by Melissa Leo (Wayward Pines), Al Madrigal (About a Boy) and Ari Graynor (Fringe). The show follows a group of young stand-up comics trying to make it in L.A.’s ‘70s comedy scene, but it also paints a picture of the cutthroat nature of the scene and the limitations comedians faced at the time.

Whether the hour-long series full of sarcasm and self-deprecation garners a second season or lands dead on the stage remains to be seen, but you can watch the whole first episode for free (hey!) on YouTube before making your own decision.

You can read our article in which we go more in-depth about the series here, and watch the first episode embedded above. The official premiere of I’m Dying Up Here is on Sunday, June 4 at 10 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
