A King Arthur Police Procedural is Coming to Fox

Did you ever hear the stories of Camelot and wonder what it would be like with more street art? If so, Fox’s new police procedural based on the stories of King Arthur’s Court might be for you.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the new show, aptly titled Camelot, will give the stories of King Arthur’s court a modern-day update. When a magical awakening occurs in New York City, “a graffiti artist named Art must team with his best friend Lance and his ex, Gwen – an idealistic cop – in order to realize his destiny and fight back against the evil forces that threaten the city.”

The project was created by Dan Frey and Ru Sommer, and the pair will pen the pilot script. They will also serve as executive producers on the project, alongside Gail Berman and Joe Earley, who was formerly the COO of Fox.

Although it’s easy to make light of projects like this, we live in a world dominated by intellectual property that is already familiar to their audiences. Shows like Sleepy Hollow have done very well for Fox, so there’s little reason to believe that Camelot will be any different.

Of course, Camelot will have to include Excalibur at some point. Maybe it will be a potent drug, or just a really special can of spray paint. The possibilities are really limitless.
