Lori Loughlin Fired from Fuller House Amid College Admissions Scandal: Report

Lori Loughlin will reportedly not return for the fifth and final season of Netflix’s Fuller House in the wake of her indictment in the national college admissions cheating scandal that has developed around her family, per TMZ. Loughlin has been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud along with her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, and actress Felicity Huffman. She was released from police custody on Wednesday after appearing in federal court in Los Angeles and posting a $1 million bond.

Loughlin became famous in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s for her character Rebecca Donaldson-Katsopolis, or Aunt Becky, on the hit sitcom Full House, which has since been revived by Netflix as Fuller House. Aunt Becky was the wife of John Stamos’ character Jesse Katsopolis, or Uncle Jesse. TMZ cites a source in production on the show who says there are no current plans for Loughlin to return to her guest-starring role on the revival, but does not reveal any specifics about how the character will be written off.

Loughlin and her husband reportedly paid upwards of $500,000 in bribes to have their daughters Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli designated as athletic recruits to the University of Southern California’s crew team, thus ensuring their admission to the school despite their never having participated in crew.
