Rob Lowe Saw Bigfoot, Thought He Was Going to Die

On their new A&E show The Lowe Files, Rob Lowe and his two adult sons are here to answer the questions about folklore and the paranormal that keep you up at night. Is Bigfoot real? Could you really be stalked by a demonic entity? Did that ghost just grab your ass?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly about the show, Lowe gives us a taste of its finale, in which he encounters Bigfoot, locally known as the “wood ape,” in the deep woods. Lowe is aware that he sounds like he lost his mind, and he’s not wrong.

“We had an incredible encounter with what locals call the wood ape, which is in the Ozark Mountains,” he explains. “I’m fully aware that I sound like a crazy, Hollywood kook right now.” When asked if he was “genuinely terrified,” he reveals that he was “lying on the ground thinking [he] was going to be killed.” Painting the finale as an edge-of-your-seat nail biter is a bold move, but if we’re being honest, we kind of want to watch it. He also describes the show’s tone as putting “Anthony Bourdain in a blender with Scooby Doo,” which leaves us more confused than before. If he’s trying to intrigue us, it’s working.

The Lowe Files will air Aug. 2 on A&E. You can watch the trailer for the show below.
