Sterling K. Brown Joins The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for Season Three Role

Sterling K. Brown is joining the cast of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for season three, as multiple outlets have reported. The actor confirmed the news Monday in a short video posted to his social media accounts. “I’m gettin’ together with Midge, and it’s going to be awesome,” Brown said.

According to the video, Mrs. Maisel showrunners Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino wrote a role specifically with Brown in mind. Brown said he was “eastward bound” to begin work on the show while still on hiatus from his starring role as Randall Pearson in the hit NBC drama This Is Us. Production details for the third season of Mrs. Maisel are few and far between, but the Amazon comedy series is reportedly filming in New York and Miami for its third season.

In addition to his role in This Is Us, Brown is known for his work in film and TV titles like The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Black Panther and Marshall. Paste even put his turn as Chistopher Darden in The People v. O.J. Simpson among our top five television performances of 2016. Brown is also set to appear in the forthcoming animated films Frozen 2 and Angry Birds 2, along with the dramas Waves and The Rhythm Section.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won five Primetime Emmys in 2018, including Outstanding Comedy Series, both Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series for Amy Sherman-Palladino, and acting awards for Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Borstein and Tony Shalhoub.
