Westworld Production Paused After Unspecified Off-Set Injury to Actor

HBO has informed Deadline today that production on Westworld was interrupted due to a “medical emergency” involving a recurring actor on the show. The injury occurred off-set, but has halted production work on one of two filming units. The actor remains unidentified “out of respect for the performer’s privacy.”

The show from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy is returning for its second season in early 2018, after premiering in 2016 to much critical acclaim. Westworld enjoyed several technical and crafts Emmys, but lost big in some key categories. Check out our review of the season one finale here.

No word yet whether this production suspension will affect the show’s season two release date.
