Younger Renewed for Seventh Season, Marks Longest-Running Scripted Series on TV Land

Currently in the middle of its sixth season, TV Land’s Younger has already been renewed for a seventh, per THR.

The scripted comedy series began in 2015 and will mark TV Land’s longest-running series once its seventh season begins. Younger will be passing TV Land’s current record-holder, Hot in Cleveland, which aired for six seasons from 2010-2015.

“Season after season, Younger has continued to reach new heights and build an incredibly loyal fan base,” Keith Cox, Paramount and TV Land president of development and production, said, per THR. “We love this talented and amazing cast and can’t wait to see what Darren has in store for season seven.”

Several weeks into its sixth season, Younger follows 40-year-old Liza as she reboots her career and love life with the help of her friends, her much-younger coworker Kelsey and the young tattoo artist who convinces Liza she doesn’t look a day over 26.

The series stars Broadway’s Sutton Foster, former Disney it-girl Hilary Duff, Nico Tortorella, Miriam Shor and Debi Mazar, to name a few.

The series is currently the Viacom-owned channel’s only scripted series, and almost jumped to TV Land’s sister channel, Paramount. Currently, Viacom has the forthcoming show Emily in Paris set for Paramount, as well as the forthcoming First Wives Club set for BET’s streaming service.
