When Little Prince asks, “Is you feeling that?” we know that the answer the Atlanta-based hip-hop artist wants to hear would be, “We is.” We also get a sense that he might not really care if we were feeling anything in particular, but just feeling in general. Even that might not make a ton of difference to him. We’re fairly certain that he’s more concerned about the feeling that he’s getting, the one that he’s trying to set up and stream.
His is a matter of touch and a matter of the oozing of words and the way the can be put together to make the most interesting of sandwiches. He takes those driblets of thought and those peculiar passions and turns them into some chain of juicy poetry. He makes you think of tight thighs and the radio. He makes you think that you’d like to be as scattered as he is someday – that such a situation would make you feel like saying, “We is.”
