No league on earth can match the goofy marketing of Major League Soccer, especially since MLS teamed up with Google to create the KICKTV YouTube channel.
KICKTV’s latest offering is Mike Magee’s Day Off, a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off spoof (or maybe homage is a better word) starring the 2013 MLS MVP and Chicago Fire star in the Ferris role.
Joining Magee, we have Sydney Leroux in the Sloane Peterson role, Omar Gonzalez in the depressed Cameron Frye role. There are also cameos galore, from Hope Solo to Magee’s former coach Bruce Arena (with family) to Judah Friedlander to the main man himself, Thierry Henry, doing some great eyebrow work.
