PUBG Mobile Is Now Live on iOS and Android

You can now put Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds in your pocket: The ubiquitous battle royale shooter has made the move to mobile. PUBG Mobile is available now on iOS and Android devices worldwide, as PUBG Corp. first announced on Monday evening.

The free-to-play game went live in 123 regions, including North America, after a brief Canadian beta. PUBG Mobile was developed by PUBG Corp. in a collaboration with Chinese gaming giant Tencent, and was originally a China-exclusive release, per Forbes.

In what is surely no coincidence, PUBG’s mobile iteration arrives immediately after another wildly popular battle royale title, Fortnite, launched in a limited capacity on iOS, with a future iOS and Android release in the offing. By launching before Fortnite, PUBG Corp. and Tencent have essentially beaten their biggest competitor to market on mobile, a necessary blow in the increasingly high-stakes war for the battle royale crown.

Android users can download PUBG Mobile here, while iOS users can download it here. By all accounts, the game runs wonderfully on mobile devices, a minor gut punch to those of us who are still stuck struggling with PUBG’s ramshackle Xbox One iteration.
