Nintendo’s Direct Showcase at E3 2018 was quick, and full of information about games both previously announced and announced during the Direct. President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aimé introduced the Direct by detailing the already-announced Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee! and Let’s Go Pikachu!, and how the new Pokéball controller will work with both of those games, as well as with Pokémon Go. From there, more games were announced in the typical trailer-by-trailer format.

Daemon x Machina

The Nintendo Switch is getting a beautiful and fast-paced mech shooter that resembles both Gundam and Armored Core. It is coming sometime in 2019.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna-The Golden Country

This new expansion pack for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will allow players to play as the enemies from the main game and the ability to have them in the player party. It’ll be out in September 2018.

Super Mario Party

A new entry in the Mario Party series is heading to the Switch this fall. Many new minigames were shown, including horseracing and baseball—players can also connect their Switches to create custom Mario Party boards. It will be out on Oct. 5, 2019.

Overcooked 2 looks to build upon a lot of the original’s co-op-centric elements. For example, ingredients can be tossed between players and kitchens can now change on the fly. It’ll be out on Aug. 7.

Killer Queen Black

Killer Queen Black is a famous modern arcade game and its port to the Nintendo Switch seems to keep what makes the arcade experience so fun. It will release sometime later this year.

Octopath Traveler

Square Enix’s love letter to their RPGs of old is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, it is out in July and a new demo for it will be available to download via the eShop on June 14.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball FighterZ is coming to the Switch and it will run at 60 fps. It is set to arrive later this year.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Nintendo’s E3 2018 Direct focused most of its energy on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, starting with the introduction of Smash Bros developer Sakurai. He gave a lead-in for the game and then went on to announce that every fighter from every Smash Bros title will be playable in the game’s roster. Also, unlocking fighters is now more streamlined, eight-player battles are back and Ridley has been confirmed as a playable character. Many aspects of the core fighting and gameplay elements have been tweaked in both the macro and micro sense. Omega forms return for all stages and the game will support the use of the GameCube controller. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is set to release on Dec. 7.
