Move aside, Lifetime: Netflix’s latest feature The Knight Before Christmas is coming for everyone and their sappy, fluffy feelings, following in the footsteps of the Christmas Prince films.
With Christmas just around the corner, it’s about time we have a cozy holiday romance about learning to let yourself believe in magic again. The film’s official synopsis explains:
After a magical sorceress transports medieval knight Sir Cole (Josh Whitehouse) to present-day Ohio during the holiday season, he befriends Brooke (Vanessa Hudgens), a clever and kind science teacher who’s been disillusioned by love. Brooke helps Sir Cole navigate the modern world and helps him discover how to fulfill his mysterious one true quest — the only act that will return him home. But as he and Brooke grow closer, Sir Cole begins to wonder just how much he wants to return to his old life.
The trailer is your typical holiday-themed rom-com extravaganza, though admittedly the Ohio setting is new. Guy gets hit by a car, girl replies, “Oh no! I guess I’ll invite you into my life because you’re just a little delusional. Good thing you’re good looking!” Now if that doesn’t scream hot chocolate, fluffy blankets and fuzzy slippers, what does? Seriously though, it’s sweet, and Hudgens and Whitehouse look cute together.
The Knight Before Christmas premieres on Nov. 21 globally, but in the meantime, here’s the trailer, the poster and some stills from the movie.
