Watch the First Trailer for John Turturro’s Big Lebowski Spinoff The Jesus Rolls

The Jesus Rolls, John Turturro’s forthcoming spinoff of Coen Brothers classic The Big Lebowski, received its first teaser trailer Thursday. The film sees Turturro reprise his role as Jesus Quintana, his odd ball-shining character from the original film. The film will also star Bobby Cannavale (The Irishman, Boardwalk Empire) and Audrey Tautou (Amelie, Coco Before Chanel) in leading roles, with support from a truly bizarre cast of Pete Davidson, Jon Hamm, Susan Sarandon and Christopher Walken.

The film is both written and directed by Turturro, a result of his desire to further portray his character from The Big Lebowski and the Coen Brothers’ reluctance to do anything personally with the film again. No other characters from the original film will be featured, meaning no Jeff Bridges and no Julianne Moore. The film is loosely based off the 1974 French film Going Places, an extremely controversial film given its vulgar content. So we guess it’s a waiting game to see just how depraved Turturro is going to get with it.

You can look below for a few stills from the forthcoming film, as well as the teaser. The Jesus Rolls doesn’t yet have a firm date, but is set to release sometime in 2020. We previously named The Big Lebowski our second favorite film of 1998. Check out where other classics like The City of Lost Children and Rushmore fell on our list right here.
