David Bowie-Based Comic Bowie: Stardust Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams Coming in January

Legendary singer David Bowie’s life will soon be immortalized via a new artistic avenue, as publisher Insight Editions is launching a comic based on the rock star’s early career. BOWIE: Stardust, Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams will follow Bowie’s rise to fame during his Ziggy Stardust days, externalizing his inner conflicts with said alter ego in vibrant boxes and panels reflected of the psychedelic color palate in which he dabbled throughout his career. The Spiders from Mars, Bowie’s backing band at the time, will also be featured in the comic.

Artists on the project are Michael Allred (Silver Surfer, Batman’66) Laura Allred (Madman, iZombie), while Steve Horton (Satellite Falling) serves as the writer. Neil Gaiman, the author of American Gods, penned the foreword.

Bowie: Stardust, Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams will be released Jan. 7, 2020, a day before what would’ve been the “Space Oddity” singer’s 74th birthday.
