Alec Baldwin Will Play Donald Trump Again on SNL This Weekend

Comedy News Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump was absent from Saturday Night Live’s first post-election episode. Baldwin expressed hesitation about returning to the role of the soon-to-be president, presumably because he was as surprised by the outcome of the election as most Americans. This week, Baldwin is set to return to the role.

Last week’s episode featured an unforgettable cold open with Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton singing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Baldwin said that he’ll return to the role of Trump, but not frequently, explaining that it cuts into his weekends and takes time away from his kids.

Now that Saturday Night Live will be forced to cover Trump for at least the next four years, it’s unclear whether Baldwin will retain the role indefinitely. At least for now, he may have to get comfortable with some additional orange makeup, at least every once in a while.
