Comedian Jamie Loftus Is Hosting the First Annual Daddy Pageant, an Annual Pageant for Daddies

Paste contributor and comedian Jamie Loftus, best known as the woman who is eating Infinite Jest, will be hosting the First Annual Daddy Pageant in Los Angeles’s Nerdmelt Showroom later this afternoon. The event will take place at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, or 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Everybody in other time zones, you do the math.

Loftus emailed me yesterday about the event, an email in which she said the following: “I don’t want this to be an email that is weird but I am posting the same thing I wrote to everyone else for the purpose of due diligence.” Then she pasted a message that mentioned she’s written for Splitsider, my sworn competitor whom also I have written for. She went on: “In honor of the paternal holidays, we will be pitting five daddies against each other in three rigorous events: Personality, Eveningwear, and the Wet T-Shirt contest. The livestreamed audience will be encouraged to vote for their favorite daddy with the help of our all-star, all-lady judging panel of Barbara Gray, Maggie Maye and Rachele Friedland.”
