Those of you headed to Austin this April are in for a treat at the Moontower Comedy Festival, as they just announced more additions to their lineup, including a special presentation of “Schitt’s Creek: Up Close & Personal.” The evening will feature cast members Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Dan Levy, Annie Murphy, Emily Hampshire and Noah Reid appearing on the Paramount stage, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the series.
Nate Bargatze, Amanda Seales and Ronny Chieng will be headlining, joining the previously announced David Spade, Jenny Slate and Sal Vulcano. Bargatze’s half-hour special was featured on Netflix’s The Standups in 2017. Seales is known for her starring role in HBO’s Insecure and her hour-long stand up special I Be Knowin’ is out on HBO this month. Fans of The Daily Show will recognize Chieng as one of the comedy program’s senior correspondents, along with appearing in the 2018 hit Crazy Rich Asians.
Further acts include Andy Kindler, DeAnne Smith, Eddie Pepitone, Jeremiah Watkins, Joe DeRosa, Joel Kim Booster, K. Trevor Wilson, Kevin McDonald, Langston Kerman (who opened up about his budding comedy career to Paste’s Yusef Roach this past September), Ron Bennington, Sean Donnelly, The Lucas Brothers, The McCuewans and Vanessa Gonzalez.
Organizers also revealed there will be live podcast tapings for About Last Night, And That’s Why We Drink, Las Culturistas, Pep Talks with the Bitter Buddha, View From the Cheap Seats and Tim Dillon is Going to Hell.
The eighth annual Moontower Comedy Festival comes to Austin this spring, April 24-27.
