Today, Netflix has released the official trailer for Ricky Gervais’ new comedy special Humanity. It’s his first stand-up comedy special in seven years. In the special, Gervais comes prepared with his snide remarks on aging, celebrity and a society that takes everything personally.
Gervais is best known for starring in and developing the U.K. version of the The Office, which led to the American comedy series that helped kickstart the careers of Steve Carell and John Krasinski, among many others. Gervais also gained infamy with his hosting skills at the 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016 Golden Globe awards, where he harshly roasted many of the presenters and nominees.
Gervais won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series Comedy for The Office in 2004. He’s appeared in several films and television shows, on top of creating shows. Now, Gervais returns to television with his new special, filmed at London’s Apollo Hammersmith Theatre.
