Yesterday, Steve Bannon was removed from the National Security Council, a crazy story which is still in the process of developing. Colbert talked about Bannon’s removal in his opening Late Show monologue last night, saying, “It was not easy to remove Bannon. They held a hot match against his back until he released his pincers. They think the head might still be in there. Might get an infection.”
Colbert joked, “Word on the street is that Jared Kushner helped push Steve Bannon out. How many jobs does that kid have?” He then talked about the “known friction” between Bannon and Kushner, wherein Bannon would call Kushner a “cuck” and a “globalist” behind his back, whatever those words mean. That’s when Colbert called Bannon out for pulling “a TCM, bro”—TCM means a “Total Cuck Move”—which featured a pretty great floating Bannon head graphic. Check out the segment embedded above.
