The Simpsons to Revive Frank Grimes in Annual Halloween Episode

Nearly 20 years after fatally impersonating his coworker nemesis, Frank Grimes will finally get his shot at revenge. Homer’s enemy will be resurrected in this year’s Halloween episode, “Treehouse of Horror,” which is also episode No. 600, according to Entertainment Weekly. Of course, if you don’t recognize the name, it might help if we list the nickname he preferred to be known by: “Grimey.”

Grimes, voiced by Simpsons cast member Hank Azaria, has been referenced several times throughout the series, including the introduction of his son, Frank Grimes Jr., but this will be first time he has spoken since his death in season eight. Grimey’s guest spot comes at the beginning of the annual episode, when his ghost, Sideshow Bob and two other characters band together over a shared hatred. “They’re forming a sinister squadron of Simpsons enemies to try to kill the Simpsons,” said executive producer Al Jean to EW.

“Treehouse of Horror XXVII” airs Oct. 16 on Fox.
