5 Home Brands That Give Back

Toms isn’t the only brand that does good. And apparel isn’t the only industry that’s charitable. When decorating or furnishing your home, you can make someone else’s home better by shopping these brands that support charity organizations.

Every year, Pottery Barn releases a line of products for the Thanks and Giving campaign that supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The campaign goes through the holidays, and Pottery Barn donates 50 percent of each purchase from the special line to the hospital. During the campaign, customers can also donate when they purchase anything and when they purchase a gift card, a portion of that goes to the hospital. Items from the collection have included ornaments and candles.

2. Hand in Hand

Not only does Hand in Hand produce things like soaps, candles and room sprays naturally and sustainably, they also give back. For every product purchased, this small company donates a bar of soap and provides a month of clean water to children in need.

Bob Dalton sells super soft blankets in every color and fabric imaginable. He was inspired to help the homeless population when his mother, a hardworking single mom, found herself living on the streets in 2013. So, he founded Sackcloth & Ashes, which donates one blanket to your local homeless shelter every time you purchase a blanket. Since the company launched in 2014, S&A has provided over 7,500 blankets to homeless shelters.

4. Canvas Home

They strive to support artisans in developing countries, which is why they give 10 percent of their profits to organizations supporting artisan groups and are proud sponsors of the Canvas Home Small Grants Program, which is run in conjunction with Aid to Artisans.
